Peer Health Navigators

Problem solving with people who've been there.
Our peer health navigators are people with personal experience with substance use,
addiction, HIV+, homelessness, poverty, and trauma.

About

We believe that:

  • The presence of individuals with lived experience is essential, as they can offer genuine empathy and relate to the challenges faced in a peer-to-peer setting.

  • Open, non-judgmental conversations about substance use help reduce stigma, ensuring that individuals do not feel ashamed or isolated.

To support these values, we offer:

  • Flexible, real-time problem-solving and support for individuals affected by substance use, poverty, homelessness, addiction, and trauma.

  • Post-overdose support and overdose prevention education.

  • Assistance with attending important appointments, court appearances, or emergency room visits.

  • Access to harm reduction supplies and referrals to needle exchange programs.
